The flexible heat pump system will have to switch to different operational modes to dynamically match with the ambient conditions. Through an investigation into the dynamic modelling of flexible heat pump systems with integrated heat storage, the accurate response behaviour of the full system could be simulated with regards to its transient properties and performance for various weather conditions, the charging and discharging of the energy storage method and projected energy losses. A dynamic model would be created using seasonal climate data for the heat pump's intended working environment and the defined equations for the heat and mass transfer of the system after a literature survey into emerging and pre-existing technologies. This would be built within a dynamic modelling software package such as Modelica or TRNSYS.
