The aim is to integrate molecular catalysts - capable of CO2 reduction, plastic polymer decomposition, or biofuel production - with the powerful optical properties of self-assembled metal nanoparticles, and investigate the effects of plasmonic phenomena such as hot electrons, local heating, and tuneable resonant wavelengths on the catalytic reactions.
