Jan. 28, 2023, 10:52 a.m. Updated 35 {"title": ["", "Vital Acoustic"], "description": ["", "\nThe IPCC have reported that our atmosphere is currently 417ppm of CO2 and rising, compared with the pre-Industrial level of 274ppm CO2 concentration. This increase has exceeded 50% for the first time. It is widely regarded that the World has reached a tipping point in terms of being able to sustain human life and Governments, Organisations and Individuals are working on ways to revert the trend in order to avoid further Environmental destruction.\n\nOne of the largest contributors of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions is the 'Built Environment'. Considering the embodied carbon used in construction, as well as operational carbon, this figure is approximately 40% of global GHG emissions.\n\nNew changes to UK building regulations came into effect in June 2022 that stipulate that new builds and retrofitting properties have to comply to much stricter limits of Energy Performance in order to reduce embodied and operation emissions and reach the Green Building Council and the UK Government's 'Net Zero' commitments. In particular, 'Part L 2013' energy performance standards have been strengthened to deliver an average of 6% carbon dioxide (CO2) saving across the new homes build mix relative to Part L 2010\\. For non-domestic buildings, the Part L 2013 energy performance standards have been strengthened to deliver an even greater 9% CO2 saving over Part L 2010 standards.\n\nWe are designing, fabricating and testing climate-positive natural acoustic building panels for interior design uses. These panels feature a high acoustic performance NRC (noise reduction coefficient) rating target \\> 1.0\\. This provides environmental health benefits in public spaces, offices and commercial real estate. We are focusing on two versions of our natural material panels; 25mm thickness products are used widely in Commercial fit-out situations and the second 100mm are designed for higher performance within recording studios, schools etc.\n\nWe are using domestically grown hemp, due to it's carbon drawdown potential of 15tons/Hectare, by sourcing materials locally we are reducing operational risk exposure to logistical challenges and the rising cost of supply. Our designs combine high acoustic performance with a carbon positive emissions rating due to the nature of the materials and the high quantity of carbon sequestration potential. Our panels have an estimated rating of -3.5kg CO2e/?, compared with an average of 6kg CO2e/? for existing materials.\n\n"], "extra_text": ["", "\n\n\n\n"], "status": ["", "Active"]}
