Jan. 28, 2023, 10:52 a.m. Updated 35 {"title": ["", "AqGraphene Scrubs"], "description": ["", "\nThe aim of this project is to produce graphene coated medical scrubs that are produced in a sustainable net zero production method with the garments being fully biodegradable. Graphene is a monolayer of carbon atoms, shaped tightly in a hexagonal honeycomb lattice. When integrated into textiles it provides many advantageous properties; strengthens, lasts longer, betters wear resistance, antibacterial and thermal management. Green Graphene has developed a new graphene dispersion production method and the product is named "AqGraphene". It is low cost and can be produced in large volumes on a commercial scale. The AqGraphene manufacturing process is environmentally friendly as it only uses water, graphite, and electricity. If renewable electricity is used then it becomes Green Graphene.\n\nThe project is split in to stages, stage one will entail extensive research to find the best and most effective methods to embed the graphene into suitable fabric. stage two is to design and manufacture medical scrubs for ten health care workers based in Nottingham. Stage three is to monitor the scrubs being used by the research group. Stage four is to return the scrubs for laboratory testing and evaluate their performance, resistance to bacteria. Stage five is to recharge the Graphene by UV light and or reapply Graphene to the scrubs. Stage six is to test the recycled Scrubs to examine their antibacterial properties. During the project market research will be carried out on individuals who work within the healthcare sector, to understand the criteria that must be met to produce practical scrubs that provide protection from bacteria and COVID.\n\nGraphene has many properties that enhances a garments performance, our aim is to ensure we are able to incorporate these properties in to the scrubs, so healthcare workers get the benefits that graphene has to offer, to achieve this continuous graphene testing will take place. From the data collated, an analysis will be made to ensure that AqGraphene is fit for purpose. Ongoing fabric testing such as flame retardancy, oil repellent, shrinkage testing, drying rate etc, will be a vital part as it will ensure all health and safety legal requirements are met. The end goal. AqGraphene Scrubs project is to produce high performing, high quality, and sustainable medical scrubs.\n\n"], "extra_text": ["", "\n\n\n\n"], "status": ["", "Active"]}
