High Tech Systems Ltd is developing a disruptive technology, Lo-Therm, a nanofluid for use in cooling/chilling systems primarily for the food and beverage sector, replacing process water currently used in such systems. We are developing Lo-Therm to increase the heat absorption by process fluid in, for example, coldstores for vegetables, thus reducing energy usage necessary to cool and maintain the temperature of such stores to their operating range of 1-6 Centigrade.

To date, High Tech Systems Ltd has already developed a separate disruptive technology, Hi-Therm, a nanofluid for use in domestic heating systems, replacing water currently used in radiator heating systems. Hi-Therm has been independently peer reviewed at a leading University and verified to reduce energy usage and carbon emissions by 36% when using Hi-Therm at a heating system temperature of 80C (a typical gas boiler temperature) and 27% per annum when using Hi-Therm at a heating system temperature of 60C (a typical heat pump system temperature).

Lo-Therm is based on the same principles as Hi-Therm but as a cooling rather than as a heating technology. High Tech Systems Ltd own a specific patent for a heat transfer fluid technology, and we believe a cooling fluid would provide at least as good results for energy usage saving and carbon reduction as our heating fluid has proven to show, but this is subject to further development and testing.
