{"title": ["", "Universal carbon avoidance and sequestration remote monitoring"], "description": ["", "\nThe world must meet its carbon reduction targets to avoid damaging climate change. Therefore, we need to encourage more people to adopt renewable technologies. Unfortunately, these technologies are too expensive for many people, including those in the developing world.\n\n**Our vision is to create a simple to use, universally applicable product to boost renewables uptake by monetising instantly the carbon emissions saved.**\n\nThe **Gridget** (The green widget!), will promote the uptake of all renewable technologies by giving the owners a method of monetising their carbon savings as an environmentally sustainable cryptocurrency. Currently, the only payments made for renewable technologies that are grid-connected and paid by the big electricity generators in return for the green electricity generated.\n\nThere is no current way for small renewables users and many large ones to demonstrate emissions avoidance and so ofsetting opportunities are wasted and the financial benefits not availed of. With the gridget, the user benefits straight away.\n\nThe main area of focus will be the development and testing of the Gridget. Most importantly, ensuring that we can produce the Gridget at a low enough cost that all users of renewable technologies and manufacturers of renewable technology would not think twice about fitting the Gridget to their systems. They will start seeing much higher financial return on their investment in renewable technologies.\n\nThe idea is innovative because it is the first system to allow adopters of renewable technologies to have a financial return on their investment without needing a grid connection. For example, a house fitted with PV panels will receive a tariff payment for the green energy generated. However, owners of solar thermal panels which generate hot water do not see any benefits for their emissions savings. Many off-grid dwellings also have renewable technologies, but they cannot gather a financial return because of the lack of grid connection or metering.\n\n"], "extra_text": ["", "\n\n\n\n"], "status": ["", "Active"]}
