This project seeks to commercialise a novel next generation of CSP technology and to speed up access in Sudan for affordable clean energy services.

According to the World Bank the present economic crisis is largely due to crippling energy shortages.Air-cooling&water accounts for60-70%of electricity consumption.Sudan has one of the lowest developmental rates in the world(SDG7:2019)&struggles with energy access in rural communities. It is no surprise that this is inextricably linked with positive development, more secure and accessible the energy supply, more development which can be achieved.

Amidst this backdrop,Vector Sustainable Energy Ltd has developed&patented a unique technology transforming how CSP energy is cooled&stored.By applying lower-cost materials&streamline methods, the innovation has the potential to reduce Solar Power CSP startup costs by up to 62%;the first of its kind.

The innovation makes use of sustainable, abundant supplies to create clean, secure, affordable solar energy. Moreover,it has a smaller land footprint.A major contribution is the noncorrosive nature&high temperature stability of our innovative TES material, increasing the thermal-to-electric efficiency of the power cycle compared to current TES materials used.

Sudan relies heavily on burning wood, contributing to deforestation&reducing agriculture.Out of a total generation of 15745 GWh in 2018,almost43%of the electricity was produced from fossil fuels, only 0.06% from solar, wind, tide, wave&other sources. The majority of the renewable electricity production(over 97%)comes from hydropower.Average sunshine duration is between 8.5&11.0 hours a day&annual average solar density ranges between 436-639 W/m2(with most regions exhibiting 100-250 W/m2)Sudan has high energy production potential which is largely unused. The implementation of our technology will contribute to the country's carbon savings by increasing÷ersifying the contribution of renewable resources in the electricity production.

The objective is the experimental development of a working steel prototype;this working model can demonstrate the technology's effectiveness, capabilities&limitations.Testing processes will generate the reporting data necessary for enabling the company to attract investor onboarding which will springboard the implementation of product scalability&full commercialisation of the innovation.

Through this project the business can embark on the processes bringing to market game-changing technology addressing real and global issues.Reliable, clean, affordable energy available rurally to pumps,or irrigation systems could be a crucial step-change in helping agricultural workers secure their livelihoods. This project will also focus on the clean cooking initiative, with solar energy able to provide clean sustainable energy to homes for cooking and household work. This would not only have a large effect on reducing the time&health burden of women who are typically engaged in household chores, but lowering childhood death rates due to air pollution in homes.
