This hydrogen will have multiple uses in the clean energy transition. Our reactor is modular and each module will produce 1 tonne/day of hydrogen - the scale required at (for example) a bus or truck depot.\n\nAmmonia is becoming the favoured means of transporting hydrogen, as the costs of transporting gaseous or liquid hydrogen are simply too high. But there then remains the problem of efficiently converting the ammonia back to hydrogen, which is what our reactor does.\n\nWe are aware of competitors developing large scale, centralised ammonia crackers for use in large ports etc, but this still leaves the problem of transporting hydrogen to the ultimate point of use. Economic analysis shows that it is best to keep the hydrogen in the form of ammonia (which is much more easily transported) until the last possible moment and then crack it to hydrogen at the point of use.\n\nIn this funded project we will design the integration of our reactor with a purification system such that the hydrogen produced will be suitable for fuel cell transport applications.\n\n"], "extra_text": ["", "\n\n\n\n"], "status": ["", "Active"]}
