In the Crushing and Screening industry over the last few years, climate change and energy security concerns have raised questions if the electric vehicle is the pathway to reducing greenhouse gas emissions however, many barriers to adoption still challenge the growth of EV in this sector.

With these constraints the most viable solution is a Battery Electric Hybrid mix, with the tracking part of the machine run by a battery leaving the machine mobile and the conveyors on the machine powered by a 3 Phase mains electricity supply. The 3-phase supply will charge the batteries through the day when the machine is plugged in.

The system will consist of the design of a scalable battery and a 3-phase system that can charge the battery system and run the conveyors. The system should have an easily used Human to machine interface that will provide all required information to the user for daily use and maintenance required, to ensure the machines performance it will have a telemetry system to monitor battery and system performance over time.

The system is simple as possible and has components that can withstand harsh environments and moist conditions with a high service interval requirement. All spare parts must be easily available with alternatives available if possible.
