There is an urgent need for energy reduction through supply chains but current approaches generally rely on suppliers disclosing information, which many will not do. An energy productivity estimator (EPE) has been developed which can describe energy use and savings across sites and down to equipment level with little or no information from the supplier. This project focuses on the use of novel software and interface combined with the EPE to allow users to explore energy, costs and emissions reduction data and opportunities through the supply chain. The technical challenge is to investigate how the software approach can be used to leverage the EPE to enable users to explore energy productivity data in SCs comprising just one, tens, hundreds or thousands of companies across different sectors.
