42 Technology, a product design, R&D and technology development company is undertaking a feasibility study

into the use of an innovative metering technology (which they previously developed and patented) to separate

demand from various different electrical appliances at a single metering point. The information is expected to

help householders to save up to 6% of the electricity bills and also reduce harmful CO2 emissions with a

minimum amount of additional equipment.

Specifically the project will demonstrate the ability of their technology to gather the rich data required and to

distinguish between different appliances being used simultaneously. This may lead to new IP being created

around the way the energy used by the different appliances is teased apart.
