When I first attended a laboratory session during the 3rd semester of my studies on the course of Thermodynamics I, designing our own experiments to measure pressure and temperature drop on turbines I realized where my interests lay. Due to the significant laboratory experience I have gained since then, such as in the courses of Thermodynamics (I & II), Heat transfer (I & II), Fluid mechanics (I & II), I believe I would competently design and execute needed experimental procedures for the project I am applying for. In these laboratory sessions we used to work both individually and in groups, mentored by postgraduate students or senior researchers, which helped me develop my teamwork and interpersonal skills. I got even more experienced in laboratory work and cooperation while working on my diploma thesis on "Experimental study on air flow through natural and induced ventilation ports - grilles" which was supervised by professor Dionissios Margaris. The experiment lasted eight months where I worked for ten hours a day. Right after graduating, I started looking for suitable PhD opportunities as I had realized my love for research, having spent so many hours in the laboratory.
