This core equipment investment at Cranfield University will support the procurement and use of three pieces of state-of-the-art instrumentation, namely:
Item 1 - A combined physisorption and chemisorption instrument
Item 2 - Light Flash Analyser for thermal conductivity/diffusivity characterisation
Item 3 - Refurbishment and relocation of an isotope ratio mass spectrometer

These instruments represent an investment that meets all four objectives of this call and will support research at Cranfield University in the EPSRC research areas of Analytical Science, Carbon Capture and Storage, Materials Engineering, Composites Materials Engineering, Metals and Alloys, Manufacturing Technologies, Polymer Materials, Graphene and Carbon Nanotechnology, Energy Storage, Chemical Reaction Dynamics and Mechanisms, Water Engineering, Materials for Energy Applications, Chemical Structure, Surface Science, Biophysics and Soft Matter Physics.
