Description

v-powerChain is a blockchain/AI-based virtual power plant (VPP) to significantly improve the efficiency of the whole local energy systems in order to deliver wider benefits to multiple stakeholders and create more prosperous and resilient communities. v-powerChain is a response to the slowdown in installed renewable capacity since 2016 and in the post subsidy system. A more complex and holistic solution is needed that goes beyond single technologies providing or storing power/heat to facilitate the delivery of cleaner and cheaper energy services to multiple stakeholders in a post subsidy system. v-powerChain is a decentralised, privacy preserved, fairer, and more efficient VPP system compare to the current solutions in the market. In this project, we will have a fully functional platform that will be coupled with our current offerings in creating local energy markets for our current customers. We will also develop innovative business and pricing models for the micro- to medium-scale distributed renewable energy resources in order to maximise their return on investment.
