{"title": ["", "TAILgate Market Assessment"], "description": ["", "\nTAILgate is a Super Connected Intermodal Transportation Portal targeted at removing the\nsingle largest barrier to collaborative transportation in the UK, namely the inability to connect\nSupply and Demand in close to real time.\nTailgate\u2019s ability to share CO2 an cost data provides the essential momentum towards\nsustainable transport choices.\nThe TAILgate 2 Market Assessment Project plans to build on the extensive work completed\nas part of the initial, TSB funded TAILgate project (under the Intelligent Transport Systems &\nServices- Informed Logistics Competition in April 2010) It sets out to undertake a deep dive\nstudy into the market requirements of potential stakeholders for this highly innovative\nIntermodal Transport Portal concept in order to determine the next steps towards\ncommercialisation of this project.\nThe initiative will deliver a Software as a Service (SaaS) solution that allows customers to\nfind and locate the best transport options for carrying a load including information on: cost,\ncarbon footprint and impact on congestion. TAILgate aims to reduce the total number of UK\nannual road freight movements by 1.5% (1.5 million movements) & associated carbon\nemissions by some 250,000 tonnes per annum by 2018.\nIn order to maximise market acceptance an adoption it is vital to satisfy as many principal\nrequirements as possible whilst protecting individual participants\u2019 aspirations & opportunities,\nbut without compromising the change agenda which TAILgate 2 will drive in a generally\ninefficient & polluting sector.\nFurther work is required in order to engage more fully with the rail community as well as to\nopen discussions with short sea & coastal operators in order to test their readiness to engage.\nThe major deliverable will be a Go to Market Strategy for TAILgate 2 including a Business\nPlan supporting an Investment Prospectus to secure a limited beta group of committed\nstakeholders including shippers & carriers with an equity stake in the business\n\n"], "extra_text": ["", "\n\n\n\n"], "status": ["", "Closed"]}
