April 11, 2022, 1:48 a.m. Updated 35 {"title": ["", "GIRONA"], "description": ["", "\nThe Girona project is a revolution in the energy market, giving customers an easy, inexpensive way to incorporate smart solutions like solar panels, battery storage and decarbonisation of heat and transport in their daily lives. A reduction in electricity bills, improvements to health and the "eco glow" of making a positive impact on the environment by reducing carbon emissions -- all of these are key benefits of the Girona project.\n\nWe want to make the energy market more democratic -- too often consumers feel powerless and uninformed, not to mention out-of-pocket. Our micro grid will offer users the chance to install small-scale renewable technology and battery storage in their homes, the cost of which will be spread out over a period of time and supported by investment from our partners. By analysing information on their usage, we will help customers not only understand their energy, but they'll also be able to manage their consumption to reduce their energy bills and potentially profit from unused capacity.\n\nIncreasing (or introducing) renewable technology, such as solar panels, will also reduce their electricity demand. For customers who are classed as being "fuel poor", i.e. they find it financially difficult to heat their homes, the resulting reduction of fuel bills will be very welcome.\n\nIn many areas categorised as being "fuel poor", an added problem is respiratory issues as a result of poorly insulated homes and high levels of fossil fuels being burnt. By decreasing reliance on fossil fuels, through increased renewable energy technologies, we can also expect a reduction in the rate of these types of illnesses.\n\nFrom a commercial perspective, providing more flexible energy solutions holds big benefits for businesses. Reducing their environmental impact (not to mention their energy bills) is often a key objective for companies, but investing in the technology needed to do so is often expensive. Our innovative system of financing the technology means they too can reap the rewards without large outlays. All commercial users can also enjoy the PR boost of upping their environmental credentials.\n\n"], "extra_text": ["", "\n\n\n\n"], "status": ["", "Active"]}
