Description
This work aims to evaluate and utilise agricultural co-products, byproducts and green waste streams that are currently not properly accounted for and create new and innovative approaches for resource recovery and sustainable energy generation using anaerobic digestion.
Anaerobic digestion of agricultural residues could not only help to produce biomethane but could be tailored to produce and recover high value chemicals for various industrial applications.
The integration of anaerobic digestion of agricultural residues with the biorefinery concept will not only advance the field but also open up different avenues for underutilised residues which in turn help in creating a sustainable and circular economy in the agricultural and green energy sector.
