Description
Angmering Community Centre is an exemplar low-energy building. It is open 7 days a week and is used by many and various groups from toddler activities to a Lunch Club for Seniors and is a popular venue for parties. This varied and constant use of the building makes it a challenging building to manage from an energy point of view. The Charity running the building has identified areas where it thinks it could make structural and technological improvements to raise the building to its optimal performance should funds become available but the building’s overall performance has currently not been fully evaluated. This study provides an opportunity to optimise performance through using feedback from energy consumption/ demand profiles, monitoring of the thermal environment by the use of data loggers and continuous monitoring equipment to investigate temperature and humidity levels, electricity and water consumption, Ground Source heat pump performance and solar PV performance and an investigation of occupant satisfaction.
