Description
The project will investigate a novel device architecture for scaling up wide bandgap semiconductor devices to high currents and high voltages, while also mitigating many of the challenges associated with using these fast-switching devices in high-power converters. This uses a cellular architecture of small devices within a complete switching entity; a sequenced switching pattern of these cells allows the individual devices in each cell to switch independently while minimising the stress on each device.
