Highly efficient industrial gas turbines are essential to the delivery of clean power for a wide range of power generation and mechanical drive applications. To ensure continued development of the gas turbine new technologies are being introduced to allow increased firing temperatures with reduced cooling and other parasitic losses to improve efficiency, improve operational flexibility whilst limiting harmful emissions. To bring these new concepts into the Gas Turbine new components designs are being produced by the additive manufacturing process. An increasing range of materials are being adopted and more complex components are being designed to improve on past functionality. This project will set out to develop methods that support the introduction of high quality and reliable complex components into the Gas Turbine.
