Description
Gas Turbine output increases on average by 0.5% for every 1degC cooling of the combustion
air. Therefore, there are serious economic and environmental considerations to be able to cool
the combustion air in a competitive and safe manner.
The system envisaged would enable Gas Turbine operators to increase the output in the
summer or in hot countries by up to 10% (25MW per hour for a large GT) in a safe manner,
without jeopardising the integrity of the Gas Turbine parts, which is the only reason for which
fog system are not as successful in this market.
If the R&D project was deemed as successful, TT(E) could aspire to supply systems that
include fog generators and air filtration systems in high volumes to both gas turbine
manufacturers and gas turbine operators.
