HGR Recycling Ltd will market, distribute & in time, manufacture new foamed glass aggregate products in the UK. Foamed glass is a lightweight aggregate produced from clean recycled glass. Foamed glass aggregate is used in earthwork construction; its bearing capacity and granularity make it ideal for large infrastructure projects. Foamed glass lightens the loads on subsoil & its high friction angle with low density minimizes lateral stresses. Foamed glass also has applications in house-building (Limecrete floors, foundations, under-floor insulation, rooftop parking, green roofs etc). It is a technically & environmentally risk-free product. We are developing new grades to meet a variety of construction applications. HGR Recycling aims to supply the UK market with up to 50,000 m3 (12,000 te) p.a. of aggregate produced from cleaned recycled glass (worth £2m). This will increase glass recycling rates & conserve the same volume of natural resources (i.e. mineral aggregates/ clay) currently sourced. Foamed glass aggregates will also play an important part in domestic energy conservation thro’ its high thermal insulation value. Beyond this volume we would seek to build a new UK plant with a capacity of 250,000m3 p.a.
