Description
While it has been understood for some time that installing electricity storage units around the periphery of the electricity distribution network would help the network to cope with the increased demands of heat pumps, electric cars and solar energy generation, there has not been a business arrangement that would encourage anybody to actually install such storage.
Swanbarton has identified a way for storage units to become profitable investments for householders and businesses, by integrating them into local energy markets, where households or business units etc can buy and sell electricity among themselves, rather than with a remote energy supply company.
Swanbarton's research will contribute to products which will enable this.
