Whitefox is an innovative British company specialising in developing engineering solutions for multiple industries including bioethanol, solvent recovery and biochemicals.
Whitefox's proprietary technology has proven advantages in terms of process efficiency, energy reduction and higher yield, resulting in both savings and increased revenue generation.
Biofuels is a key target market for Whitefox; globally the market is valued at around £43bn and is forecast to double by 2030. The US is a key export market for Whitefox, whereby its existing technology is currently operating at 9 US plants.
Whitefox is looking to dramatically improve the efficiency of biofuel production. This will benefit the UK's £1 billion biofuels industry, forecast to grow as the UK moves from 5-10% ethanol blends in petrol, driven by the Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation and the UK's 2050 Net-Zero targets.
Whitefox has developed a new disruptive solution to significantly improve the efficiency of the global production of sustainable fuels for road and air transport. Its membrane-based solution reduces energy, water and CO2 emissions in production by more than 50%. This project will take this innovation through to industrial demonstration to support large scale commercialisation.
As with the water industry, which introduced RO membranes instead of industrial distillation, Whitefox is looking to introduce hollow fibre membranes to modernise the biofuels industry.
