S&B Waste and Recycling have secured support from the Technology Strategy Board, to Investigate the potential Business opportunities in Refuse Derived Fuel(RDF) supply. The key issues in RDF Production is efficiency in the use of Heat and Power when drying, shredding and, where required, Autoclave treatment.RDF when applied to Energy generation through Advanced Conversion is a much cleaner process than basic Incineration and will contribute significantly to 2020 targets of 15% UK energy needs from Renewables. The University of Wolverhampton will be assisting with the initial Research into optimised processes, along with cutting edge Technologies to be applied. With the reality of RDF Production from diverted Waste, S&B Waste will be able to Invest, sustain Jobs, increase employment opportunities, and achieve their Mission of "Zero2landfill" by 2015.
