Large institutions, such as universities and out-of-town employers, have dedicated and under-utilised vehicle fleets providing transport across distributed sites and transport corridors. Similarly, a number of commercial fleet providers, e.g. community transport, are inaccessible to most businesses and commuters. Preston IMC aims to develop an integrated transportation platform that entails: applying "demand responsive transportation” technology to fleet vehicles; combining these fleets with scheduled transportation for travel planning; opening access of fleets to multiple institutions. Thus, a transport shared economy will be created for commercial fleets and pave the way to link Mobility-as-a-Service with DRT. This platform will increase the utilisation of fleets, reducing empty seats, and discourage the use of inefficient and ineffective transport. This solution integrates scheduled public transport (buses etc.) to offer a multimodal solution and provide live feeds on all services. Outcomes: Develop the MVP platform (scheduling, interface, routing); implement the solution in an existing fleet for a single practical feasibility trial (University-science park); measure the performance of the solution for both commercial and behavioural impact. Keywords: Connected Transport, Smart Mobility, DRT
